Sustainable travel

As part of TFL’s STARS scheme, Wandsworth Preparatory School promotes and facilitates active, safe and sustainable travel to and from school.

This year we are working to substantially reduce our schools car usage by collaborating with TFL and their STARS programme. Instead of using private cars, the school encourages pupils, parents and staff to walk, cycle, scoot or take public transport by running targeted events throughout the school year.

Active travel provides pupils with an opportunity to:

Improve their health.

Improve the environment by reducing congestion and emissions on the road.

Improve road safety skills.

Improve their day by starting it with a burst of activity.

Targets for 2022/2023

To encourage more people to cycle, walk or scooter to school and reduce car use in the area around our school.

To achieve our Bronze accreditation status from TFL.

If you have changed your travel habits and would like to share your story, or have ideas for future promotions and activities, please contact the school office or katie.brown@wandsworthprep.com. We would like to hear from you!

Thank you to all those who have participated in any of these initiatives or who have reviewed their travel habits to and from school. Wandsworth Prep will continue to promote safe, active, and responsible travel for the whole community.
