Art is a significant area within our curriculum which is weaved seamlessly into pupils' termly projects. Art is a subject that includes many skills through a variety of mediums and we aim to enrich pupils' artistic development through a range of experiences.
Art is taught both explicitly, in our dedicated Art Room, which is equipped with art tables for larger scale work, drying areas, shelving and display areas, and through creative activities across the wider curriculum.
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for pupils to showcase their artistic talents and deepen and develop their interest and talents. In the Autumn Term, children take part in the Independent Schools’ Association annual Art competition and, in the Spring Term, enter the Fourth Plinth Art competition, hosted by the London Mayor. In the Summer Term, the school hosts a creative arts week, which culminates in an art auction to raise money for the school’s chosen charity.
