Pupils who have 1:1 music tuition at Wandsworth Prep School work very hard throughout the term practising in their own time to improve their musical talents. What better way to showcase these talents and show their classmates and family what they have been preparing for than an end of term instrumental concert. We were treated to vocal performances, piano and ukulele. A big thank you to the children who were extremely brave to stand up in front of a large audience and perform. A very shy and nervous child can be transformed through regular performances and presentations as each time they try, it becomes a little less overwhelming.
This was the first time the children have been able to perform to a live audience for over a year due to Covid restrictions. A huge thank you to all the parents who came to watch the performances. Coping with nerves is all part of a musician’s journey and the children really do benefit from performing in front of a live audience.
A big well done to all the musicians, the parents for encouraging practice at home and to their wonderful music teachers. The children have enjoyed performing so much they have already started discussing with their teachers what to perform for next term’s concert!
