On Friday 29th of June, Wandsworth Prep School held its annual Sports Day. Unlike last year, we didn't have to worry about the rain, instead, we were worried about the amount of sun and heat!!
The children participated in a range of events, including running races in 100m, 200m, 400m, high jump, long jump, standing triple jump, javelin throw, discus and shotput. Throughout the Summer term, the children have been practising these events so that on the day, they could showcase their skills with confidence.
Children were awarded points for their performance at each activity, for example, the faster they ran, the more points they received, the higher they jumped or the further they threw, the greater number of points were awarded to them and their team. At the end of the day, the points were added up and the overall winning team was The Panthers with 1456 points.
All of the staff and children were then treated to the parent's Tug of War, which rounded off Sports Day perfectly!
Thank you to all our pupils who showcased brilliant skills throughout the day as well as a tremendous amount of effort and enthusiasm. Thank you to all the pupils who also helped to run some of the events, you were all amazing.
A big thank you to all the parents and family members who came to cheer their children on. We hope you enjoyed the day and, of course, the Tug of War! And finally, we must say a very big thank you to every member of staff who helped out on the day, without you, the day does not happen.
We are very proud of our children at Wandsworth Preparatory School and the effort they have put in throughout the academic year.
