An emotional Remembrance Day for all

On Wednesday 11th November, the whole school was involved in Wandsworth Prep's Remembrance Service. Our amazing Year 4, 5 and 6's lead the day by performing a play inspired by an evacuation story, reciting the poem 'Let's Break the Silence, on the 2 Minutes Silence' and our traditional Armistice Day song.

The whole school were present in their classroom bubbles and joined in virtually with The Ode of Remembrance. Miss Jo read war stories from the grandparents & great grandparents of our children and staff. The personal heroism, sacrifice and bravery of every single one made a huge impression on us all.

Whilst we continue to live in the current strange and unfamiliar world of Covid, it was a chance for everyone in the school to reflect and express gratitude to those who lost their lives to defend our freedom. The session was streamed live to not only parents but grandparents and even great grandparents all over the world.

If you missed the session do take a look at the presentation here which details these amazing stories. Thank you to all who contributed to an emotional and humbling day.
