Arts Project for Schools Christmas Card Project
8th November 2012
The Reception pupils at Wandsworth Prep have taken part in the Arts Projects for Schools Christmas Card Project in support of our school charity, Canine Partners.
The Children have enjoyed the process of creating a piece of art that will have a life beyond the end of the lesson and have felt a real sense of pride in their endeavours.
Our Reception children have experienced the life of an artist and have been thrilled at seeing their very own Christmas card designs professionally printed for parents, grandparents, friends and relations to treasure forever.
Inspired by the Christmas Card Project and their exciting visit to the Tate Modern, the Reception Children have developed a keen interest in learning about art and how to paint. Using the book, How to Paint a Penguin, they have created some fantastic work which you can see in their 'Monkey Business' pupils' work blog here.
On Friday 9th October our children will take part in a Christmas Tree Bauble Workshop with local business, Smartie Paints, and we look forward to treasuring their designs on our school Christmas Tree this December.
