Celebrations around the World

At Wandsworth Prep, we are lucky to have children in our classes from many countries around the world. We value their different experiences and beliefs and take every opportunity to share these with the children across the school through assemblies and as part of our learning.

With recent events of Chinese New Year and Burns Night, we have explored the traditions to understand their purpose, meaning and what it means to the country they originate from. The children particularly enjoyed finding out which is their zodiac animal in the Chinese Lunar Calendar and reading the Ode to the Haggis.

With Lent and The Holiday Festival in upcoming months, we are looking forward to finding out more and celebrating the events.
