Channelling the recent excitement surrounding the World Chess Championships, eight of Wandsworth Prep's finest chess players have also been achieving in the world of chess.
The school's chess team entered the 1st leg of the Surrey West and Hampshire Chess Tournament. Competing in two teams against the likes of King’s College and St Paul’s, the boys did wonderfully well and played some very tactical and nail-biting chess games. The teams finished 2nd and 5th respectively, making the school very proud.
With the 2nd leg of the tournament to come in March and a chance of qualifying for the Chess Champion’s League final or the Europa League final, there is a lot of excitement and enthusiasm around school. We look forward to it with bated breath.
