Children to Visit Viking Exhibition at The British Museum
14th March 2014
As part of our Viking Mantle Project this term, we are excited to have been invited by the British Museum to visit their recently opened BP exhibition: Vikings, Life and Legend - the first at the British Museum for over 30 years.
On display, swords and axes, coins and jewellery, hoards, amulets and religious images will show the children how Vikings created an international network connecting cultures over four continents. At the centre of the exhibition will be the surviving timbers of a 37-metre-long Viking warship, the longest ever found.
Children in both Reception and Year 1 will visit the Viking Exhibit on Wednesday 19th March 2014. We look forward to hearing about this exciting visit and to see how the children have been inspired by their experience as they work towards putting the final touches on our own WPS Living Viking Museum.
