Development of Our Extra Curricular Programme

22nd March 2013

In order to achieve our ambitious School aims of providing a dynamic curriculum which creates a learning environment that is exciting, creative and stimulating, Wandsworth Prep School is committed to the development of our extra curricular programme. Working closely with our PTA, this term our Reception children had the opportunity to take part in a Cooking Club with our Chef, Mr. Abdell. This week children developed their measuring and mixing skills as they made delicious Easter Puddings. You can see Mr. Abdell’s recipe here. In the Summer Term, our PE team, Wannabeez, will introduce NinjaBeez, a fusion sport combining both fencing and judo skills, led by Mr. Angus and one of the national judo coaches. Children will also have the opportunity to further explore their interests in the Arts in Mr. Matt’s Smart Art Club, which will see pupils develop their skills both in the art studio and outdoors. Children will also have the opportunity to use our iPads to creatively explore their artistic talents. From September 2013, children will have further opportunities to take up peripatetic music lessons in piano and violin, as well as lunch time clubs in group singing/choir and drama. Our PE team, Wannabeez, will continue to drive the sport development of the school with the roll out of clubs in areas such as; dance, yoga, golf, and tennis, together with the traditional sports of rugby, hockey, cricket, netball and lacrosse.
