This was an exciting week for Wandsworth Prep as we recorded our first ever sporting victory as the Year 2/3 boys beat The Roche School 55 - 35 at TAG Rugby on Tuesday. It was a gorgeous afternoon as the sun shone down on a rather small but well kept pitch at Wandsworth Park. Wandsworth Prep looked well organised in defence, preventing the opposition from scoring and looked very decisive and ruthless on the attack using clever movement to sidestep and evade The Roche defenders.
The girls also took part in a netball training session which ended with a small coached game. This was the first time that the girls have taken to a netball court and by the end they were beginning to understand and apply the rules of netball. The game ended 4-2 to The Roche.
Overall this was a positive experience for all and we aim to organise something similar to this in the near future.
Reception and Year 1 travelled to ‘Treasure Island’ this week, incorporating a variation of movements, climbing and crawling skills. The children travelled from their pirate ships, through the sea, onto Treasure Island to collect the treasure before returning to their ship to place the loot in their treasure chest.
Years 2 and 3 are due to complete the final challenge of the ABCs Fundamental Challenge on Friday with the winners being announced next week!
