Wandsworth Preparatory School is delighted to announce the appointment of Bridget Saul as the school’s new Headteacher. For Bridget, this is an exciting next step in a teaching career that has encompassed a wide range of experience.
With eighteen years’ teaching experience in middle and senior leadership roles in the independent and maintained sectors, Bridget joined Wandsworth Prep as Deputy Headteacher when the school opened its doors in September 2012. Her passion for curriculum development has underpinned the success of key learning initiatives at the school and has been instrumental in building the outstanding practice for which the school was recognised (Ofsted inspection June 2013) in its first year.
Prior to joining the independent day school, for children aged 4-11, Bridget taught at Thomas’ Preparatory School in Battersea for thirteen years. Having stepped in to the role of Acting Headteacher for the past six months, Bridget is now looking forward to the opportunity to take Wandsworth Prep forward, putting new plans for development in place, as the school continues to grow.
Bridget said: “I am thrilled to have been offered the role of Headteacher at Wandsworth Prep School. The school has reached a very exciting phase in its development and I am particularly looking forward to working with our dedicated team of teachers, the children and parent body as we embark further on the journey towards the school reaching full capacity in September 2017. I am committed to continuing to build upon the school's engaging and challenging curriculum and ensuring that children leave us as confident and happy individuals, ready to embrace their next stage of learning.”
Steven Wade, Bellevue Education’s UK Schools Director, said: “I am delighted to welcome Bridget to the position of Headteacher at Wandsworth Prep School. The appointment arose as a result of the school’s previous Head choosing to spend more time with her new family and we received many applications for the post, from a very strong field of candidates, locally, nationally and internationally. Through a rigorous recruitment process, Bridget demonstrated that she was the strongest candidate in an impressive field, to lead the school forward.”
Any families who have not yet had the opportunity to meet Bridget Saul are encouraged to do so, by arranging an appointment to visit the school.
