An integral part of any successful school, is a listening culture. At Wandsworth Prep, we place great emphasis on listening and responding to the views of parents and children alike to ensure that the school remains a forward-looking community, with children achieving their full potential always at the forefront of our minds.
In the Spring Term, a survey was completed by parents at the school, which gave us a very clear sense of what most parents regard as the primary strengths of the school. All parents who completed the survey believe that the core values of Wandsworth Prep are reflective of what the school offers; a warm and nurturing environment where children are inspired to achieve their best. Furthermore, many parents value how teachers place children at the heart of all that they do, strengthened by an inclusive and community feel. Where particular impact was noted by parents, was that of Growth mind-set on children’s attitudes to learning and subsequent achievement.
The following table lists the questions which achieved the highest percentage of respondents who chose either Strongly Agree or Agree.

Inevitably, there was some very constructive feedback received from parents, which will enable us to improve the school further. The main area identified relates to communication. We recognise the role clear communication has to play in the smooth running of a school. This term, we are piloting an online system whereby parents are able to confirm attendance at school events such as parents’ evenings or permission for their child to take part in a residential trip; the new system should streamline previous paper based communication, therefore making the process somewhat more efficient and simple to manage.
Of paramount importance in conducting any survey is, of course, impact on the outcomes for all the children in our care.
