Launching the new School Council

Wandsworth Preparatory School is excited to be launching the new School Council for this year.

We are focusing on developing the essential skills children can learn through taking on leadership roles, that they can then transfer to roles later in their life. We will be doing this through a variety of new ventures such as UK Parliament Week, which focuses on building the awareness of democracy and parliament in the UK and how this can translate into our school, as well as taking part in the Speakers School Council Award later on in the year, which gives us the opportunity to create our own projects that will impact on the school and community in a positive way.

The children have been thinking about what the School Council means to them and we have created the following word cloud with their ideas:

In the following weeks, each class will be voting for their two class representatives so watch this space!
