Magic Day

By using experts, we inspire our children to learn from the very best! After passion projects around magic and fantasy in Years 2, 5 and 6, they joined together to learn from ‘The Magic Man’. After shocking them with impossible tricks, the children were lucky enough to learn some of the tricks of the trade and spent the rest of the day impressing the school with elastic bands that seemed to unknot magically in front of our eyes! The pupil reviews were five star: “He could turn cards into solid glass!” “His trick was amazing and I couldn’t believe that he actually tricked us with magic and cards!”

Year 2 not only enjoyed their new magical powers, they dressed as magicians and wizards and found their way to the classroom via stepping stones of giant cards. After making dreamcatchers, they settled down to a very special movie afternoon watching their very favourite giant - The BFG! Some young magicians also entertained their peers with their very own magic tricks and shows, perfected at home - no doubt inspired and improved after watching our magician in the morning. Completing a learning project with a celebration is a way of making it memorable and something WPS excels in doing!
