On Friday each child will take home a pupil diary. The diaries can be used to:
  • store key term dates
  • show the new phonic sounds to practise at home
  • to keep a record of the reading books that the children have borrowed from the library as well as the reading scheme books
  • Set learning targets for pupils
Every Tuesday the children will have some time to select a book from the school library to take home and bring back the following week. Useful apps to assist with phonics are ‘Pocket Phonics’ and ‘Super Why’. These can be downloaded onto Apple ipads and iphones from iTunes
