Miss Melissa Takes Part in Apple Education Leadership Summit

3rd February 2014

The annual Apple Education Leadership Summit was held in London on Tuesday 21st January, with Miss Melissa invited by Apple to take part in this prestigious event. Joining fellow school leaders from both the UK maintained and independent sector, and international schools from Europe, Australia, North and South America, Miss Melissa took part in a day of inspirational talks, workshops and case studies led by Apple and their team of staff, teachers and pupils from ‘Lighthouse Schools’ from across the country. The aim of the day was to work with school leaders who have or will be embarking on a 1:1 learning platform to help them to transform traditional models of teaching and learning, and bring learning to life through digital technology. “It was so inspiring to hear from schools, just like us, who have embarked on the development of a 1:1 learning platform, and to witness the transformations which have occurred across all facets of school life as a result of these initiatives. The children we met who led us through some of the workshops were passionate, and their message about the impact of 1:1 learning on their educational experience and enjoyment of learning was clear. Running into Fraser Speirs on the day was an added bonus, and I was thrilled to hear from him that school’s such as St. Paul’s and Colet Court were also in attendance on the day as they begin to adopt the technology which we at Wandsworth Prep have already embraced.”
