Our Netball and Gymnastics Progress

Children across the entire school have been developing their own dance sequences based around their topic stories. They have been learning about the different elements of dance - travel patterns, energy, levels and shapes, and the children hope to present their dances at the end of term topic exhibitions.

Along with dance, the Reception children have also been working on their gymnastics skills in our ‘little gym’. The Reception children’s balance and coordination have greatly improved as they practice rolling, walking along a beam, jumping from a height, jumping over a vault and jumping through hoops!

The year 3 and 4s competed in another netball fixture against Eveline Day School, and it has been fantastic to watch their skills and knowledge of the game and develop. We had three teams of 5, competing in a round-robin type of competition. Well done on taking out some of the matches and drawing others! Your dodging, defending, passing and shooting were very impressive!

At the start of next term we will be competing in a whole school skip-a-thon. This will include a variety of skipping, jumping and hopping activities. We would love you to come along!
