Wandsworth Prep School is part of Bellevue Education Group. Other schools in the group are: Brabyns Prep School, Marple, Stockport Edenhurst Prep School, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire Gateway School, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire Skippers Hill Manor Prep School, Mayfield, East Sussex Norfolk House School, Muswell Hill, London Weston Green School, Thames Ditton, Surrey Whilst each Bellevue school is run independently, they all share the same values: Bellevue Education believes in: • broad curricula delivered in innovative ways that excite and engage children • investment – in teachers, buildings and technology • exceptional results as being a by-product of the education offered, not the exclusive focus Training programmes, Heads’ Management Meetings and Governance Committee Meetings provide numerous opportunities for staff at the schools to meet, network and share ideas with staff from all schools throughout the group. The response to these workshops is very positive and staff appreciate the opportunities to meet with other teachers in their fields, share best practice, and arrange visits to each other’s schools. An example of such a training session is the Music focused workshop which was held at the Hampton Court office last term. All schools were represented and one of the key goals of the day was to enable staff with similar responsibilities at each of the schools to get to know one another and share ideas and best practice. “It is fantastic to be able to share ideas with each other, as music can be quite isolating, especially if you are the only teacher at your school. The whole day was very well organised and I have returned to school full of enthusiasm and insight.” As the final part of the workshop, staff began preparations for a Bellevue Music Festival, which has been provisionally planned for the Spring Term 2013. The event will give Wandsworth Prep pupils the opportunity to meet with pupils from other schools within the group and to be involved in exciting and ambitious projects. We look forward to announcing detailonce they are confirmed. These Wandsworth Prep is now looking forward to sharing its own expertise with other schools within the group:
  • Headteacher, Melissa McBride, will talk to Bellevue teachers about PSHE & Citizenship on 4th November.
  • Reception teacher, Polly Hazlewood, will be demonstrating the value of Forest Schools when Bellevue teachers join her at Wandsworth Common on 15th November.
