The beauty of Forest School is the ability to link the curriculum with the outdoors on a regular basis. Years 2 and 3 had the opportunity to deepen their scientific knowledge of trees and were able to correctly identify them by looking at leaf shapes. Whilst on a nature walk through the forest, children could accurately point out what trees they could see. They then challenged themselves by using a blindfold so that they only identified the tree's leaves by touch. The children stated that by seeing the trees in real life they were able to learn the names more accurately.
