Parent Information Event: ‘Managing the Transition into Key Stage 2’

In September 2014, Wandsworth Prep will enter an exciting phase of continued expansion as we open the doors to our first Year 3 Class. Children experience a number of transitions during their educational career and as a school we recognise the importance of ensuring a smooth transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, both socially and academically. We will be hosting an information evening for any interested parents within our local community whose children are currently in Year 2 either in the maintained or independent sectors. The event will take place at Wandsworth Preparatory School on Tuesday 20 May from 19:00 – 20:00. The information evening will provide parents with an opportunity to:
  • Learn how WPS will support the transition into Key Stage 2 at Year 3
  • Learn how WPS will prepare pupils for 11+ and future schools
  • Meet our Year 3 teacher
  • See the Year 3 classroom and examples of what our curriculum looks like in practice

This event is open to the parents of children who will be joining us in Year 3 in September 2014 as well as other interested parties. If you have any friends who would be interested in attending our information event, please feel welcome to register and bring them along with you. The event will be led by the leadership team, Melissa McBride and Bridget Saul, with an opportunity to meet the Year 3 class teacher, Miss Jess Wilson.
