Reciting Poetry in Preparation for the Poetry Café

Today, Wandsworth Prep School celebrate National Poetry Day and open its Poetry Café for the fourth year running. Our Poetry Café is a wonderful motivator for children to compose their own poems for a ‘real’ and not imagined audience. Knowing that the performance is special and valued in the café, creates an exciting creative writing learning opportunity. This week, pupils up and down the school have been learning about poetry in more detail, in preparation of rising to the challenge of the Poetry Café.
