Pupils Enjoy Mini Yoga Classes

Naomi Thrower, the School’s Yoga Teacher, has written a short update on what pupils have been learning in their Mini Yoga sessions. Read Naomi’s Mini Yoga update, below.

Mini Yoga Update

Pupils have been having fun learning through yoga stories, music and dance.  I am as relaxed as possible (without too much disorder!) so they can express themselves and get to know their bodies.

Pupils are starting to learn sun salutations (the core of many forms of yoga class) and have been doing the three main warrior poses. They are very keen to do any form of inversion: shoulder stands, headstands, handstands.  They have also been learning some partner poses.

The pupils have loved learning to do yoga massages to help everyone relax at the end of class.

Over the next few weeks we will be learning some breathing exercises they can use outside the yoga room to help them feel calm.  We are also going to make a video of a yoga song or story for them to show to parents at the end of term.
