Pupils enjoy performance of Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave

On Tuesday 11th October, pupils in Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a stage performance of Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave at the Clapham Picture House.

The hour-long show combined live theatre, original music and magical projections to tell the tale of Mrs Armitage, her faithful dog Breakspear and their custom-made surfboard as they enjoy the Californian sunshine while waiting for the next big wave.

Mrs Armitage and the Big Wave is an internationally best selling picture book written and illustrated by the multi- award winning author and illustrator, Quentin Blake.

Pupils were already very familiar with the book and the opportunity to see the story performed on stage really brought the story to life and enhanced their understanding of active story-telling.
