Reception Enjoy Workshop at Dulwich Picture Gallery
10th May 2013
On Wednesday 1st May, the Reception children took part in their second trip to the Dulwich Picture Gallery where they experienced a poetry workshop as part of their Communication Language and Literacy development.
Getting to work alongside some lively Year 1 pupils from three local primary schools, our children sung, danced and played musical instruments to a traditional Jamaican Tale. They were also treated to a very special gallery tour involving exploring the possible meanings behind Italian portraits currently on display in the gallery.
A highlight of the trip was looking at a portrait of Queen Elizabeth as a child which inspired our children to make their own portraits of themselves as a king or a queen.
