Reception Teacher appointed at Wandsworth Prep School

26th March 2012

Wandsworth Prep School is delighted to announce that Polly Hazlewood has been appointed as Reception Teacher and EYFS Coordinator. Currently class teacher at George Eliot Primary School, and having taught all ages across the Primary spectrum over the last 5 years, Polly has developed clear values of what she believes is important in a child’s education. “I am delighted to be part of such an exciting School and working with a creative team who are so committed to developing an inspirational educational experience for the children. As an enthusiastic and positive teacher (who loves her job) my role is always to plan and deliver opportunities for children that excite, stimulate and arouse curiosity. Providing children with fun, fulfilling and stimulating experiences which encourage their imagination and thinking skills and supports them in their growth as independent learners is what drives me.” Polly’s background in theatre and the arts has provided her with a creative edge. Having spent five years creating multi-sensory Live Art projects for adults and children in venues and festivals including The Edinburgh Festival, Latitude, Fierce, Battersea Arts Centre and The Junction, Polly brings a broad range of creative experiences and skills to Wandsworth Prep. Recently appointed Headteacher, Melissa McBride, is excited to have Polly onboard. “I am thrilled to have Miss Polly Hazlewood joining the Wandsworth Prep School team in September as our Reception teacher and EYFS coordinator. Her creative and caring approach will provide our pupils with a rich range of learning experiences which will encourage confidence, a happy attitude, an enquiring mind and a love of learning. I know her expertise within the foundation stage and her experience in Forest Schools will create an exciting learning environment for our Reception pupils.” Interested parents can meet Polly at the Wandsworth Prep School Open Morning which is taking place on Saturday 28th April (10:00 – 12:00).
