As part of our annual discussions with pupils on the importance of Fire Safety and the people who help us, our Reception class were invited to the Wandsworth Fire Station to see first hand what the amazing people at the Fire Brigade do to keep us safe.
The children were thrilled to watch Miss Polly dress up as a member of the Fire Department and to be at the station during a real emergency call. Seeing the brave fire men and women respond to a call to action, slide down the fire pole and zoom off in the firetruck was certainly a highlight for all.
Back at school, the children practiced their phonics and writing skills by creating a thank you card for the Fire Station and walking to our local post box to send our “thank you” on its way. View a photo gallery of Reception's visit to Wandsworth Fire Station.
