Throughout the Spring Term, Reception class has taken part in a project on pirates. The project has incorporated all areas of the curriculum – from learning about the life of a pirate and writing letters in a bottle in English, to creating maps in geography and visiting the Golden Hinde – all of which have provided the children with a highly stimulating and engaging learning experience, with their end goal being to locate all parts of a missing map in order to locate the treasure.
The project culminated with an end of term showcase in the forest which saw the children, with the help from their parents, overcome challenges through problem solving and effective team work, in order to find the missing piece of the map in order to help guide them to the all-important treasure.
Watch a short video of the event, below. As you will see, a wonderful time was had by all and the treasure was found!
