Reception’s Forest School Island Investigation

28th Jan 2016

In our classroom, an Island has appeared. On this Island many things live and grow and we, the Island Investigators (I.I), have been using our detective skills to listen to and look at the many peculiar things that have been happening. We also know we have to care for and protect these things. Luckily, we have Forest School to help us learn these skills, as we are planning a trip to the Island in the near future.

We have practised our investigation skills at Forest School in a number of ways. We split into teams - the hiders and the seekers. The ‘hiders’ left a series of clues and trails which the ‘seekers’ had to find and follow. We carefully tracked one another, making sure we were respecting the forest on our way, using our problem-solving and verbal reasoning skills along the way.
