This week we continued our ABCs Fundamental challenge. The focus this week has been balance. For the first challenge, the children were asked to walk across a bench whilst balancing a bean bag on their heads. For the second challenge the children had to balance a tennis ball on a racket and weave through an obstacle course, before placing the ball in a bucket at the end. This week Wiggins were the winners, which extended their lead in the overall competition.
The scores so far are:
Wiggins - 855
Ainslie - 810
Ennis - 810
Murray - 795
Next week we are focusing on co-ordination skills.
Elsewhere at Wandsworth Prep, Reception are gaining confidence in the pool. This week they had an introduction to backstroke, mainly focusing on their body shape and maintaining buoyancy in the water.
Children in Years 2 and 3 have continued to develop their TAG Rugby skills in preparation for next week’s match. As TAG Rugby is relatively new to most of the children, this week we have focused on learning and understanding the basic rules of the game and played an in house match. On Friday, we will focus on making positive forward runs to try to break down an opposition’s defensive line and how we can support a team mate.
We wish Year 2 and Year 3 all the best in their TAG Rugby match vs Orchard House on Tuesday.
We are also pleased to announce that the girls have a netball training session/practice match vs The Roche School on Monday 2nd February.
