Sport Round Up: A New Sport

As we move into the second half of the summer term, we continue with our most important sport of the year; athletics. As well as athletics following us over to the second half of the summer term, we have also introduced a new sport.

On a Thursday, children have been working on their forehand, backhand and volley; all skills children need to play their new sport of the half term, which is tennis. As well as working on their match time skills, children have also been practicing their ball mastery skills using their tennis ball and racquet, such as balance and hand eye coordination.

This half term in athletics, all attention is on our most important sporting event of the school year; Sports Day. All children have been practicing and shown exactly what they'll be doing, whether they're in Reception to Year 2 or if they're in Year 3 to Year 6, each athlete has worked extremely hard to get the technique of all the events as perfect as possible ready to show off come sports day.

We are looking forward to it already!
