Sport Round Up: Developing Dance and Hockey skills

For the past four weeks, children in Upper School have been working on breakdance in their Dance sessions, whilst learning key words such as unison and cannon.

In order to develop their understanding and ideas, and for professional visualisation, the children were introduced to some breakdance groups such as ‘Diversity’. At the end of each lesson the children have been given the opportunity to create their own routines and perform them to the class. Lower and Middle School have been using the six basic dance actions to put together a story and tell it through their actions.

During their Hockey sessions, children in Lower and Middle School have been taught to master the correct passing, shooting (sweep and slide) and dribbling techniques (Indian dribble).

Pupils have also enjoyed a number of matches, to further develop their game play.
