Sport Round Up: New Sports and Charity Fun Run

In PE this summer term, two new sports have been introduced. Our first sport is Athletics, as we get closer to sports day, the children are working hard with learning the techniques for the various events they will compete in on the day. For example we have gone through 100m sprints and the most efficient way to start and finish the race to give you the best advantage on finishing first.

Our second sport is Cricket where the children will learn the fundamentals to Batting, Bowling and Fielding.

In addition, on Friday the 27th of April, Wandsworth Prep hosted its first ever charity fun run, this included all children from Reception to Year 6. Unfortunately, the weather conditions were not ideal with heavy rain, but all the children were determined and excited to take part regardless. Each child showed a great amount of perseverance to complete as many laps as possible within their allocated time frame. Reception to Year 2 had a 30 minute time limit and Year 3 to Year 6 had 1 hour.

It was great to see so much support for the children from both parents and staff.
