Sport Round Up: Sports Day

On Wednesday the 27th of June, all children from Reception all the way up to Year 6 were able to show off their athletic skills to parents and teachers for the biggest sporting event of the school year: Sports Day.

Key Stage 1's Sports Day took place in the middle of Wimbledon park athletics track; they participated in lots of games and athletic events, such as javelin, 50m race, an obstacle course and a bean bag throw. All children showed great enthusiasm and energy for every single station they were on, even with the heat of the mid-day sun beating down, they displayed amazing focus and gave 100% throughout the whole day.

As well as Key Stage 1 having an amazing Sports Day, Key Stage 2 also displayed fantastic energy and technique on each station, such as shotput, discus, triple and long jump. On the track Key Stage 2 took part in 100m and 400m running races; even with the heat on the track, children still managed to push themselves to try and reach the finish line as quickly as they could.

Well done to everyone. A fantastic day of achievement and fun for everyone!
