Sports Day 2015

5th July 2015

Sports Day 2015

This Friday, we hosted our annual Sports Day on Wandsworth Common.

The Reception class was split into two small groups with the rest of the school divided into their house groups. These six groups completed six field events; ‘Around the World’ challenge, Target Hoop Throw, Zig Zag Run, Bean Bag Throw, Bean Bag Balance and the Standing Long Jump, before moving on to the track events; 50m Sprint and the House Relay. All of the children were outstanding, with performances way beyond their years.

Throughout the day, the parents witnessed speed, agility, balance, fantastic jumping, brilliant overarm throwing and accurate underarm target throwing. The sprint races were contested superbly with a couple of close run races and not a single relay baton was dropped in either the lower or upper school relays. Team GB, please take note!!! Once all of the points were calculated together, Team Wiggins was crowned the overall winners. Well done to all of the other houses for their performances on the day. A special mention goes out to all those parents who competed in either the ‘Hula Hoop’ and ‘Long Jump’ competitions.

Thank you to all of those parents who showed their support this morning helping to make it a special day for the children. I’m sure you’ll agree the children were fantastic.
