Wandsworth Prep’s School Council Recycling Project

Wandsworth Prep's School Council have been inspired to set up a recycling project so that we can make a change and become more eco-friendly. Following a recent survey the School Council gave to pupils and teachers​​, we noticed that teachers and pupils did not know much about recycling and how it works as well as what we can do to put more recycling into action. We made an action plan thinking of all the things we needed to do to make our project successful. The first thing we did was to write a letter to our local council asking how to start up recycling in our school and we got involved in a workshop called 'bin detectives'. The 'bin detectives' workshop helped us audit our rubbish and we found out that 67% of our rubbish could actually be recycled! We set to work thinking of our targets to get recycling started.
