Windsor Castle Trip

A Marvellous Day at Windsor Castle

To bring together the learning of Kings, Queens and Castles in Year 1 and Fairytales and Fantasy in Reception, the children had a very exciting trip to Windsor Castle! The weather was perfect and during the trip the children spent plenty of time exploring the grounds and state rooms inside the castle.

Although I must say the highlight of the trip was meeting India’s Grandfather, who is a Military Knight based at Windsor. Stuart took the children down to watch the Changing of the Guard and afterwards gave a grand tour of St George’s Chapel. The children enjoyed listening to all of Stuart’s interesting facts (as well as his funny jokes) and it was extraordinary to be treated like VIPs at Windsor.

It was a joy to see the children’s genuine interest in everything they saw and as Stuart said they all showed a “healthy intelligent curiosity” which I was very proud of. Well done to Reception and Year 1 for representing Wandsworth Prep so beautifully and a BIG thank you to Mr Stuart Watts for his time and giving the children an experience they'll never forget - it really was very special.
