Last Thursday, Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic trip to London consisting of a visit to the Globe Theatre and a number of other tourist attractions.
After a tour of the Globe, complete with interesting information and our very own sneak peek at Macbeth, we made our way to our theatre workshop. There we worked with Jack - a Youth Director for The Globe Theatre.
Jack took us through characterisation techniques where we learnt to behave like high and low status characters. We put spells on people while in the character of Puck using the line ‘up and down, up and down, I will lead you up and down.’
After completing our workshop, we sat down for a lovely lunch along the South Bank. Prior to our trip, we had each researched our own tourist attraction along the Southbank. In teams we filmed one another talking about each attraction.
Back at school, we became film editors. We learnt how to mute, do voice overs, slow and speed film up, cut, trim and sequence clips, change filters and add text. It was very good for a first attempt! What do you think?
