Years 2 and 3 Showcase: Castles, Beasts and Braves

This term has been extraordinary for Years 2 and 3 who took on the roles of historians who were dedicated to cracking codes and discovering more about the past.

After meeting Brian, a historian and battle reenactment actor, and discovering a secret room with a sword and a note, they built up their history skills of analysing and exploring parts of the past, specifically the Anglo Saxons. Through this, they immersed themselves in the lives of the Anglo Saxons and discovered the link with the legend of Beowulf. They were inspired by this legend and in year groups they then collaborated to create and act out their fantastic (and frightening!) version of Beowulf, using lots of physical drama and superb acting techniques.
