All rounders…

This term, Reception have worked hard on developing their water confidence in the pool and are going from strength to strength. All children have grown in confidence and are now starting to swim with their faces in the water. This week, some children begun to swim on their front unaided with a selection of children venturing into the ‘Big Pool’ where they were tested in deeper water.

Year 1 developed their catching skills further with week using a variety of different sized balls. The difference in size and bounce ability of the balls tested the children's ability to judge the distance and how much power was required in order to successfully bounce a ball to their partner.

Years 2 and 3 have begun preparing themselves for next term, getting ahead of the competition. The children have focused on developing their skills in rounders. Stations were set up to improve batting, bowling and fielding. This concluded with a fiercely fought in-house match with ended in a draw with both sides scoring 4 ½ rounders each.

Looking ahead to next term, we are in the process of arranging mixed rounders fixtures.
