Headteacher’s Blog: Footprints on my mind

3rd October 2014 | School Blog

It is not every day that one has an animated conversation with 6 and 7 year old children surrounding particular features of a footprint, which then leads in to heated debate as to whether these are unique, as are fingerprints. Each time I have entered the Year 1 classroom this week, I have been met with a shower of creativity. I sat with some children as they analysed different Picasso prints and, it seems that we are not short of astute art critics, some offering insightful observations.Being brutally honest, I have always found measuring a rather difficult concept to grasp but, had I had the opportunity to measure objects using unifix cubes, as our children in Reception have, things may have just been a little different!Miss Bridget
