Meet Matt Kear, our Classroom Assistant

20th June 2012

I am delighted to be a part of this new and exciting school and am fully relishing the prospect of fulfilling my role as a Reception Classroom Assistant. I strongly believe in the schools ethos and think this is how learning should be applied at this age group. I am a very sporty and creative person that likes to find new and exciting practical techniques that engage children.I was Head of ICT and taught sport and art in a prep school in Hampshire.  I have also helped teach A-level art at a school in Surrey, but primary is the age group that I enjoy working with most. At my previous primary school I managed to instigate animation into the syllabus and taught Reception children how to type which I thoroughly enjoyed and was fascinated with how the children responded to a different way of learning. I created the set and stage designs for the school plays and dressed up as the Gruffalo for Year 1 which was a very funny experience. I also was a part of the schools Forest School programme and helped to teach the children about the great outdoors.I have a National Diploma in Fine Art and Bachelors Honours Degree in Animation which I secured at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. I love my sport, especially rugby, and like to relax by going to the gym or playing sport as well as socialising with friends. I am so excited to be starting in September and look forward to meeting you all then.Matt Kear, Classroom Assistant
