Meet Jessica Wilson, our Year 1 Class Teacher

28th February 2013

I am delighted to be introducing myself as the new Year 1 Class Teacher at Wandsworth Prep School. I am thrilled to be joining this forward thinking and creative school, where the emphasis is on developing children into successful, lifelong learners. I strongly believe in the School’s ethos which reflects my own ideas of what effective education should look like. I am really looking forward to working with such an inspiring team to deliver the best education for your child. One of my passions, as an Early Years Specialist, is in delivering an enriching and personalised curriculum which is moulded to the children I teach. This ensures that they develop into inquisitive learners, for life. Over the past two years, I have been working in Reception and Year 1 at an Outstanding Beacon School, which has pioneered its own cross-curricular approach to teaching and learning. I love to use an initial, engaging stimulus to capture the imaginations of little learners, before creatively weaving other subjects subtly into their activities, in particular through the use of Art, Drama and role-play.I am excited to bring my energy and knowledge to the team at Wandsworth, to ensure that all the children are engaged and inspired by everything they encounter in the classroom and outdoors. Having grown up on Dartmoor in Devon, I feel passionate about exploiting the vast learning opportunities found through exploring the environment around us and can’t wait to start the journey of discovery with my new class in September.Jessica Wilson
