Deputy Headteacher, Bridget Saul, to Lead Curriculum for New Year 3 Class
7th November 2012
I am very excited by the prospect of leading the curriculum for Wandsworth Prep School’s inaugural Key Stage 2 class. We have adopted a creative, theme-based curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6. Cross-curricular links are made at every opportunity. Our planning will be guided by the International Primary Curriculum. The International Primary Curriculum is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for international mindedness and for personal learning. The International Primary Curriculum has been designed to ensure rigorous learning but also to help teachers make all learning exciting, active and meaningful for children. The International Primary Curriculum is used by schools in more than 80 countries around the world. The curriculum at Key Stage 2 aims to broaden children’s minds and really enthuse their love of learning. Children will be given the opportunity to work in depth, giving them the time they need to reflect, consolidate and record their learning. Children will be encouraged to explore their talents and interests further through a full and varied extra-curricular programme.During the coming months, we will publish a sample Year 3 timetable for prospective parents as well as overviews of the Year 3 curriculum. These documents will be available on our website.Bridget SaulDeputy Head Teacher
