Preparation underway for Wandsworth Prep’s Cross Country

On Wednesday14th October, Wandsworth Prep will be competing in its first Years 1 - 4 Cross Country. In preparation for this, there has been lots of sprinting taking place, in addition to lots of out-of-breath-too-tired-to-run-anymore-Miss-Caitlin-don't-make-us! Most importantly though, there has been a huge dose of persistence.

Children in all year groups have been working on the following in their running:

- head held high

- arms moving (opposite arm forward with opposite leg)

- long strides

- a consistent pace

- an all-you've-got SPRINT to the finish

Watch the video below to see what we've been up to in Sport this fortnight.

Click on the links below to maps which show the courses for each level. If you have a spare minute, visit the park and have a run around! The more practice the better.

If you are able to marshal on the day please get in touch with me via email. Parents are essential in the safety of the course. The first race starts at 1.30 pm with the Year 1 girls and the last race should be finished by 2.40 pm.

Keep running!
