Over the last few weeks, all children at Wandsworth Prep have been working extremely hard at improving their endurance running fitness. At the end of this half term, Years 1 to 4 will compete in the first Wandsworth Prep Cross Country held at Wandsworth Common.
If training with your child on the weekends, talk to them about pace, using long strides, having their head up and bending their arms backwards and forwards in opposition with their legs. We are getting excited and looking forward to watching everyone compete (including the parents and teachers if we have any brave souls!).
Year 3 and 4 will be competing in their first fixture of the year on Wednesday the 23rd of September at Tooting Bec Common. We will arrive at 1.45pm and aim to kick off shortly after. This should be a good match against Eveline Day School.
Reception to Year 2 have been working on their rolling, throwing and catching skills. Ask your child to demonstrate the correct way to catch a ball - we are still learning!
Children enjoyed their first swimming lessons. Please remember that it's essential that all children come with a swimming cap so they can participate. Remember, Year 3 and 4 are now swimming on a Friday and Year 1 and 2 on a Thursday.
