This Week:Mantle: Our Island Detectives have finally stepped foot on the newly discovered island. We have been working on a brilliant piece of poetry describing our initial thoughts and feelings about the island. We have also worked on ways of improving our writing by using more descriptive language.Numeracy: This week we have looked at number bonds to 20 as well as the relationship between minutes, hours and days.Next Week:Mantle: Our story will move on to setting up a laboratory concentrating specifically on the different scientific areas such as plant life, animals, rocks and minerals.Numeracy: We will be focusing on money including the relationship between the different coins, as well as ways in which we can record data.At Home:Spellings: 5 high frequency words and 5 related to our phonic sound of the week, silent b.Daily reading: Bug Club should also still be accessible to the children.
