‘Oh what a night!’
Bringing our parents together is important to us all at Wandsworth Prep and we did this with true glitz and glamour at our WPS Community Summer Ball. A big thank you to Sachi for all the inspiration and to Saima and Parvez for all the support in the organisation and preparation. The evening was truly magical with drinks flowing and music playing. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the last year of hard work.
It was an extra special occasion as it was the parents’ chance to say goodbye to our much loved headteacher, Miss Jo. Speeches were made on behalf of the parents to thank Jo for all she has contributed towards the school in the seven years she has been here and especially the last two as headteacher.
‘You’re always just there helping us and being utterly fabulous,’ were some of the words used to describe how we all feel about Jo.
Miss Jo said: ‘Thank you for lending your children to me, because it is just a joy and I feel so lucky!’
We enjoyed an amazing cake which featured Jo’s face on top and we also had the opportunity to welcome our new headteacher, Laura, to the school from next year. We are incredibly lucky that our teachers and parents have similar values and all want the best for the school and the children to thrive. It was an incredible evening that resulted in some sore dancing feet and, just maybe, the odd sore head.
