Wandsworth Pre Prep for 3-4 year olds, the perfect start to your child’s educational journey

Posted: 17th March 2025

Reading at Wandsworth Prep

From the moment our children join us at age 3, our Pre Prep class is the first step in a journey that balances academic rigor with creative exploration, personal growth, and valuable life skills.  From assembly to student council meetings, our Pre Prep children are active and integrated participants in the life of the school.

Learning Through Play and Individualised Attention

In Pre Prep, we understand that young children learn best through play, which is why we incorporate plenty of playful activities into the daily routine. This approach allows children to build social skills, problem-solve, and explore their imaginations in a safe, supportive setting. At the same time, we provide personalised learning opportunities with 1:1 or small-group sessions for phonics, reading, reasoning and mathematics daily. This balance ensures that each child progresses at their own pace, receiving the attention they need to thrive.

Specialist Lessons

We are also committed to broadening the horizons of our children, which is why we offer weekly lessons in Spanish, French, and Music. Our music lessons spark creativity and help the children develop their love for rhythm, melody, and performance.

Enrichment Opportunities

We believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom, which is why our children enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities. From climbing to cookery and forest school, every child is encouraged to explore new interests, discover their talents, and develop confidence in a variety of settings.

Physical Activity

Physical activity is an integral part of our Pre Prep program. Alongside twice weekly PE lessons taught by specialist teachers, every week, the children participate in a variety of activities including swimming lessons, Playball, dance and yoga.

Supporting Working Parents: Flexible Care Options

We understand that many of our families have busy schedules and need support balancing work and family life. That’s why we offer a range of flexible care options designed to meet the needs of working parents, ensuring that your child’s education and well-being are always taken care of, even outside of school hours.  Breakfast club starts at 7.30am and we offer an after school club from 3.30pm to 6pm at no additional charge.  During the school holidays we also run a daily holiday club that runs from 7.30am to 6pm and offers a fun-filled programme designed to keep children entertained and engaged during the holidays.

We have limited spaces for September 2025, get in touch with us to arrange a visit office@wandsworthprep.com
