We officially kicked off the new school year with our annual welcome back games afternoon, and it was wonderful to see our school community come together once again.
Held just before the start of term, the afternoon provided the perfect opportunity for our returning pupils and families to catch up after the summer break, while also giving our new children and their families a chance to meet classmates, teachers and other members of the Wandsworth Prep community before their first day.
There was a lovely atmosphere throughout the afternoon, with children enjoying time with their friends, meeting their new teachers and getting excited about the year ahead. For our new starters, it was a relaxed and informal introduction to school life, helping them to feel more familiar with their surroundings and begin forming new friendships before the classroom doors officially opened.
Of course, one of the biggest attractions was our newly refurbished playground!
Following our summer makeover, the children were very keen to explore the new space and, in particular, our brand-new traversing climbing wall. It proved to be an instant favourite, with children eager to test their climbing skills, challenge themselves and see how far they could get.
It was fantastic to see the children making full use of the improvements we have made to our outdoor space, enjoying being active and playing together.
There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, with games, activities and lots of opportunities for children and families to spend time together. And no Wandsworth Prep gathering would be complete without something delicious to eat!
A huge thank you to our wonderful PTA for providing the pizza. It was a huge hit and very much enjoyed by children, parents and staff alike!
We are incredibly grateful to our PTA for their continued support and for helping to make occasions like this so special for our school community.
